Humboldt Hardpack Riders 2025

The ride starts at Boldt Nutrition in downtown Humboldt.  Go east on Sumner Avenue through Humboldt .  Turn north (left) on the Three Rivers Trail. Ride 0.6 miles and then veer left to climb to the part of the Three Rivers Trail that bridges Highway 3. Continue west northwest on the Three Rivers Trail to Bradgate. Bradgate is the turn around point.  TractorLift Brewery is the endpoint. Map My Ride.

Two scenic side-trips

We encourage a couple of scenic side trips. In Rutland, go south on Third Street S to Rose Mill Park. The park overlooks the West Branch of the Des Moines River and its 1911 hydroelectric dam and powerhouse.

If you have time to take the trail less than 1 mile beyond Bradgate, a long bridge spans the West Branch of the Des Moines River.

Restrooms

Restrooms are available at the start of the ride at TractorLift Brewery and Boldt Nutrition. The shelter house in Rutland has restrooms along the trail. In Bradgate the Community Center will be open for riders.

Food and drink for purchase

Boldt Nutrition, TractorLift Brewery, and the Knotty Pine Bar will be open at the start of the ride. In Rutland, Nuts Landing Bar will open early for riders. In Bradgate the Bradgate Fire Department will have snacks for sale and TractorLift Beer for a freewill donation.

After the ride, Texas Toast and Tots food truck will have meals available for purchase. Don’t forget all our great downtown businesses where you can get a meal or a drink: 716 Main, Boldt Nutrition, Chang’s Chinese Kitchen, El Sol Mexican Restaurant, El Valle Tienda Y Carniceria, Knotty Pine Bar, Night Owl Bookstore for drinks, TractorLift Brewery, as well as many others in Dakota City and on our highways.

After the ride

Wind down out front of TractorLift after the ride. Carter Theesfeld will be playing and singing.

At 1 PM we will have a drawing for our great raffle prizes: electric bike, electric grill, coolers, swag and more.

Sag wagon

We have a sag wagon available. If for some reason you can’t complete the ride, we will transport you and your bike to the start of the ride.  Please call 515-368-3485 for a ride back to downtown Humboldt.
